On Tuesday, February 7th, 2024, many underprivileged patients at Alex Ekwueme University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (AEFUTHA) 1 & 2 breathed a sigh of relief as Sister Ursula Anunobi, known for her dedication to helping others, arrived at the hospital with a variety of food items and mats.

Last week, Sister Ursula covered the bills for twenty-five needy patients out of more than a hundred, using the available funds to assist those with smaller bills.

Yesterday, at AEFUTHA 1 & 2, after distributing food items and mats, many financially struggling patients, seeking assistance to pay their bills, purchase medications, or cover test fees, gathered around Sister Ursula. One young man shared his story, revealing that his wife had undergone a Caesarean section and required oxygen to survive. He lamented the total cost of medical care, which amounted to Three Hundred and Fifty-Four Thousand Six Hundred and Twenty-Four Naira ($251.43).

Similarly, a widow named Cynthia Odoh, who had spent over three months in the hospital with her son suffering from leg cancer, was discharged on January 26th, 2024, with a bill totaling Six Hundred Thousand Naira ($427.20).

Cynthia and other patients expressed gratitude to God for providing assistance through Sister Ursula. They prayed that the source of support for the needy would never run dry.

Offering words of encouragement to the needy patients, Sister Ursula urged them to continue praying for God’s provision, assuring them that a helping hand would soon come, allowing them to roll up their mats and return home, just as twenty-five others were settled and discharged last week.
