By God’s grace, Sister Ursula feeds the hungry and cares for the poor in Nigeria

This video shows Sister Ursula Anunobi feeding the hungry on the streets of Nigeria. Many of the people she serves are elderly, disabled, abandoned, or chronically hungry. Sister Ursula also accompanies sick and injured patients to the hospital and purchases medicines that make treatment possible.

The narration in this video gives thanks to God for this work and closes with a blessing.

The original narration, conveys the following message: By the grace of God, we take people to the hospital and obtain medication. God has been using her, and we give glory to God for that, so that this work can continue. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Sister Ursula of Abakaliki, Nigeria has dedicated herself to personally finding, feeding, and bringing medical care to the poor, sick, and dying of Abakaliki. She visits Jefferson City occasionally to recuperate and maintain ties with family and friends, and through these visits the Sisters of the Poor Foundation was organized by a group of friends. We were invited to meet Sister Ursula on one of those visits and were immediately motivated to contribute to her work. This has provided us an opportunity to participate in charitable work where there is a direct connection and we are allowed to see it grow, and we are eternally grateful for this privilege. One reason I like donating to the Sisters of the Poor is that I know Sr. Ursula personally, and I know that she works with the poorest of the poor in her country. I see the results of what we have given to Sr. Ursula's ministry and so even though I am not physically present with her, I feel united with her work with these people. I am very grateful for her ministry.

I just remember Sr. Ursula sitting in the chapel during my Holy Hour pre-pandemic. She was so cute. A couple times she asked me to give her a ride to the Goodwill store. (And I did, of course. It's hard to say no.) Let's just say that I trust her and trust you and others who advocate for her needs. I trust how the money is being used. It's my way of supporting the poor overseas.
